Safely store highly viscous and temperature-critical media
Heated and insulated storage tanks of the KCD series from Krampitz
In many areas of the process engineering industry, the storage of highly viscous media represents a particular technical challenge. Substances such as paraffin, bitumen, Stearic, fatty acids, Palm oil, molasses, Sugar syrups, Heavy fuel oil (HFO) or waxes have a high viscosity at ambient temperature or tend to solidify completely below certain temperatures. This makes targeted temperature control and insulation during storage essential – both from a process engineering and safety perspective.
The Krampitz Tanksystem GmbH offers a specialized solution for these demanding requirements: the KCD storage tanks, developed for highly viscous, temperature-critical media. These tanks are available in 10″, 20″ and 40″ high cube container variants are available as standard and are characterized by their robust, industrial construction and sophisticated technical features.
Technical features of KCD storage tanks
The KCD storage tanks are optionally made of high-quality Steel or stainless steel manufactured, depending on the chemical properties of the medium to be stored. They are fully heated – via electric heating systems or optionally with heating coils for hot water or thermal oil – and have a multi-layer high-performance insulationwhich both minimizes energy consumption and Work Safety maximized.
A central feature is the outer shell: This is designed in such a way that the Surface temperature remains below safety-critical values even when heatedto reduce the risk of Burns or scalds for the operating personnel. Thus, the tanks not only meet technical requirements, but also important Requirements in the area of occupational health and safety.
Storage tank with operating temperatures from 80° to 100°C
The KCD storage tanks can be used with appropriate equipment up to a temperature of 80°C be heated. Technical solutions up to a Operating temperature of 100°C can be met with special equipment from the KTD-F.
Krampitz storage tanks: tested safety and approvals
All tanks of the KCD series are statically tested, have a official registration number and wear a corresponding Approvals, which confirms their suitability for industrial applications. This creates planning security and enables worldwide use – even in regulatory demanding markets.
Diverse applications for our storage tanks
The heated KCD storage tanks are used wherever controlled storage conditions for highly viscous or temperature-dependent media are required. Typical areas of application are:
- Chemical and petrochemical industry
- Food industry (e.g. storage of palm oil, stearin or molasses)
- Cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries (e.g. waxes, fatty acids)
- Asphalt and bitumen processing
- Energy and combined heat and power plants (e.g. heavy oil/HFO)
- Logistics company for liquid bulk goods
And finally ...
The KCD tanks from Krampitz offer a technically sophisticated, safe, and economical solution for the storage and temperature control of highly viscous media. Thanks to their modular container design, they are easily transportable, can be used worldwide and through theirs robust construction also ideal for harsh industrial environments.
