Switches and lamps, EX
Krampitz safety features part 2: switches and lamps, EX
All Krampitz tanks and tank containers for highly flammable media have special explosion-proof lamps and switches. Marked with the Ex symbol. They differ significantly from conventional devices in terms of their processing.
Lamps EX
Explosion proof lamps have an extremely stable, pressure-resistant housing. Shatterproof glass, strong rubber seals and solid screw connections. Unlike the simple, unprotected lamp housings.
If an explosive mixture - i.e. gasoline or kerosene vapors - flows into the unprotected lamp and is ignited by an electrical spark, the lamp will not be able to withstand the pressure. The explosion can spread unhindered and destroy the entire gas station.
Stop! For this reason: No unprotected lamp housings in gas stations for highly flammable media. That's why Krampitz only uses explosion-proof lamps here.
Here the housing can safely withstand the explosion pressure inside. It just causes the lamp to deflagrate. But the lamp remains intact. A transfer of the explosion to the outside, to the surrounding explosive atmosphere, is not possible. And a dangerous explosion can be prevented.
Switch EX
Explosion-proof switches work according to the same principle of operation. They also consist of flameproof housings that can safely withstand any explosion pressure inside. Unlike conventional, unprotected switches.
The consistent use of explosion-proof lamps and switches when storing highly flammable media makes Krampitz tank systems and gas stations so safe!
Effective explosion protection. Krampitz tank system. Cubic good.
