Fuel cleaning system
Automatic fuel cleaning station for tank systems
The problem of diesel pollution
By the microbial infestation of fuel storage facilities (diesel, kerosene, gasoline) in warm regions of the world and indoor facilities, such as Data Centers or High security facilities, there are always major cases of damage to the combustion engines of machines, generators and aircraft.
The interaction of microbiology, high outside temperatures and condensation in the fuel leads to the rapid growth of microbes in the bottom area of the fuel tank, which can quickly render all of the fuel in the tank unusable.
Fuel cleaning system
Krampitz Tanksystem GmbH has filed against the Diesel plague A highly effective system has been developed that disinfects the fuel using physical means and only keeps the discharged condensate (in the condensate tank) germ-free with a chemical disinfectant!
Whether small or large tank systems, the microbiology to be killed remains the same!!!
Even small storage tanks need tank breathing units that safely adsorb/disinfect dust with microbiology, moisture, and insects! In order to keep the outside air free of dust, moisture and microbial contamination, a tank ventilation unit was developed and integrated into the KRP.
Diesel plague? Not with the KRP-5000!
- The KRP-5000 circulates the fuel at short intervals.
- The KRP-5000 cleans the fuel from dirt particles.
- The KRP-5000 filters water components from the fuel.
- The KRP-5000 kills microorganisms in the fuel.
- The KRP-5000 also keeps the incoming outside air low in germs.
The Krampitz fuel cleaning system KRP increases the long-term stability of fuels.
Fuel cleaning system for storage tanks
In order to achieve long-term storage stability of the diesel fuel to be stored, a multi-stage safety treatment of the system is required. Fuel storage and treatment form a complex system and must also be considered together.
The Krampitz safety concept for fuel storage and treatment in brief:
a) self-closing ventilation fitting for minimal entry of microbes into the storage tank via the air atmosphere
b) UV radiation treatment system installed in the ventilation line, the microbes entering the storage tank via the air atmosphere are deactivated
c) good flow of fuel through the entire tank (exclusion of the formation of dead zones in the storage tank)
d) the slope of the ground causes microbes and condensate water to accumulate directly on the tank suction pipe of the treatment plant
e) Internal coating of the floor area
f) Filtration of the fuel and separation of free water
The automatic fuel cleaning and care system type KRP-5000 is used to separate water, sediments and microbes in order to maintain consistent quality in storage fluids such as diesel and, above all, to separate microbes that can form during long-term storage. The cleaning and care system is designed so that it cleans a volume of 5.000 m³ within 8 hours at the planned throughput of 40 liters/h. The flow causes circulation within the tank, so that the entire contents of the tank are cleaned after 24 hours of circulation at the latest.
Key features of the automatic fuel cleaning and care system type KRP-5000
a) Filter water separator from the aviation industry with 10 times finer separation performance of water and sediment from diesel fuel than comparable diesel standard filters. Maximum throughput capacity of the separator is four times greater than required in the KPR 5000.
b) UV system with triple safety – treatment length of the UV tubes is three times longer than required.
c) Automatic condensate water removal from the filter water separator into the dirty water collection tank.
d) High-quality fuel delivery unit - industrial gear pump, suitable for endurance running, extremely robust, German, high-quality product.
e) Automatic alarm signaling to the control room.

Automatic fuel – cleaning and care station for tank systems
The automatic fuel cleaning and care system is operated in a circuit and is divided into two classic treatment stages:
Level A fuel treatment system: filter water separator for water and dirt
Filtration takes place in a classic pre-filter (bag filter) and a filter water separator from the aviation industry, which is produced by a renowned German manufacturer.
Fuel treatment system level B: the physical microbacterial treatment / disinfection
The physical microbacterial treatment of the fuel flowing through takes place using ultraviolet irradiation (UV rays) in special treatment tubes. The UV treatment of water for drinking water production has been used successfully in water treatment worldwide for decades. In recent years it has been increasingly used for fuel treatment in various industrial sectors. We use UV lamps from a renowned German manufacturer.
